The Wife points out a great way to save on rent:
Japanese Woman Caught Living in Man’s Closet
Tokyo - A homeless woman who sneaked into a man’s house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing.
Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man’s closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday.
If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred times. Don’t steal food from the guy whose closet you’re staying in.
I have so many questions about how this scenario played out! Did she ever leave the apartment? How big was this closet? How did she go an entire year undetected? In a way it’s like the Anne Frank story. I think it would be a great Lifetime movie! And in the end they get married of course.
Is it just a coincidence that the 3 people who lived in Kramer’s giant dresser drawers in that Seinfeld episode were Japanese?
I once lived in a closet in Mexico with one other guy for several months, but the owner knew we were there and we paid rent.
